Pre-application Consultation
Elements Green is bringing forward a proposal for an underground cable connection linking Penllergaer Solar Park to Swansea North Substation.
The cable route would enable the solar park to connect to the electricity network, allowing the renewable electricity it generates to be exported to homes and businesses.
The proposed works are being progressed as a separate planning application to Swansea Council. The cable route falls within the Llangyfelach electoral ward as well as Llangyfelach and Mawr community council boundaries.
This page relates specifically to the proposed cable connection and is separate from the planning application for Penllergaer Solar Park.
What is pre-application consultation?
Before submitting the planning application, we are carrying out a pre-application consultation with people and organisations who may be affected by, or have an interest in, the proposed development.
This gives you an opportunity to comment directly to Elements Green before the application is submitted.
Local residents, landowners and community groups can raise questions, share local knowledge and comment on the proposals while they are still being finalised. We will consider the feedback received as we prepare the planning application.

What happens next?
Once the consultation has closed, we will consider the feedback received and finalise the planning application.
The application will then be submitted to Swansea Council along with a Pre-application Consultation Report which will address all comments raised. The Council will separately publicise the application as part of the formal planning process, giving you a further opportunity to comment.
